Halloween Party Favor Cups

Trick Or Treat! These Halloween Party Favor Cups are so cute that you'll want to put a treat in them for all the ghosts and goblins in your life. The party favors are easy to make with a few simple supplies you probably either have in your craft supplies or they can be purchased inexpensively at any craft store.

Fill these cups with treats such as candy, popcorn balls, small Halloween trinkets, or Halloween pencils and erasers for fun gift giving ideas. They would be perfect favors to give to guests at your Halloween bash or fill with goodies for a treat to make someone's day special.

You'll need:

-Strong paper cups (not plastic, any size)
-Halloween theme scrapbook paper
-Scissors
-Pen or pencil
-Craft glue
-Craft brush
-Pretty trim (lace, ribbon, rick rack, etc.)
-Standard size hole punch
-Black pipe cleaners
-Hot glue gun and glue sticks
-Small Halloween embellishments (optional)

1. Cut a paper cup down the seam, then cut out the bottom of the cup. You will be left with a curved piece of heavy paper. This is the pattern you will use to make covers for the remaining cups.

Cut down the seam of the cup.

Cut away the entire bottom of the cup.

The remaining part is your pattern.

2. Lay scrapbook paper design side down and place pattern on the paper. Trace pattern on the wrong side of the paper. Add a little extra length to the pattern for overlapping the ends.

3. Cut out the design on the scrapbook paper. This curved shape will fit around a cup correctly.

This is the paper that will decorate the cup.

4. Wrap the paper around the cup. Trim excess paper as needed, being careful to maintain the curved shape of the pattern.

More than likely, the paper will be too long for the cup. Trim as needed for an exact fit.

5. Brush glue on the outside of the cup, then fit paper around the cup and allow to dry.

Any fun Halloween colored paper can be used for this project!

6. Cut trim to fit around the top of the cup and hot glue to secure.

7.  Punch a hole a little below the trim on one side of the cup and repeat on the opposite side.

Look closely to see the hole right below the trim.

Punch a hole on the opposite side.

8. Insert a pipe cleaner into the hole from the outside. Fold it up from the inside then repeat on the other side to complete the handle.

Insert pipe cleaner for handle.

Fold up pip cleaner to secure handle. It will stay secure if it is folded up an inch or two.

9. Optional: Decorate the cup with small Halloween foam shapes, buttons, or other embellishments.

10. Your cup is now ready to be filled with goodies like candy, popcorn, fun Halloween pencils and erasers or small Halloween toys!

These cups are filled with candy corn, marshmallow creme pumpkins, and white chocolate Reese's cups. What is your favorite Halloween candy?
