My Mom's birthday is coming up soon, and it's always hard to shop for her since her birthday is so soon after Christmas. The cover for her iPad is a little worn, so I decided to make her a new one. I told her what I was making and let her choose the colors she wanted. She likes pastel pink and green like I do, so it was fun working with some of my favorite colors.
I know there are a lot of you who like to crochet, so I thought you might like the pattern to make covers for your iPad, e-readers, or other electronic devices. To adjust size of this pattern to work for any size e-reader or even for a cell phone or iPod case, simply adjust the size of the beginning chain, along with the length and height of the piece.
This is probably an intermediate pattern. You'll need to know all the basic stitches, how to work through 2 layers, and there is a small amount of sewing. If you take it all step by step, this pattern should be doable for an advanced beginner who is familiar with all the basic stitches.
Crochet E-Reader Case Pattern
This pattern was sized for an iPad. Adjust beginning chain and length/width to fit other electronic devices.
This pattern is for personal use only. Make as many cases as you want for yourself, for gifts, or for charity. You may not sell the finished items or this pattern. Do not copy this pattern to another website or blog. My copyright policy is on my sidebar if needed Thanks!

4. Fold the piece (right side down) so the e-reader is covered (front and back) with a small overhang for a flap. Pin with safety pins to secure.
5. Using contrasting yarn and the same hook, evenly space single crochet stitches around the edge, going through both thicknesses of the case to secure it. Continue single crochets for single layer of the flap, making 3 single crochets in each corner. Crochet around the other side, again working through both thicknesses of the case. Tie off and weave ends.
6. Put e-reader in the case and fold flap over. Determine where closure should go. Sew snap on the inside of the flap and the corresponding part of the case. Sew a decorative button on the outside of the flap directly over the snap.

She chose such pretty cheery colors and you did a great job! I don't know if I can tackle this but we have a new IPAD so it sure would be nice! Thanks for the directions! Hugs!
Finishing touches are my favorite part too! This is darling, usable and practical. Good job!
Oh that is so lovely! Makes me wish I knew how to crochet.
How lovely! Your mother is getting a wonderful birthday gift.
Super cute carrier! I have been meaning to crochet a laptop carrier but never seem to get around to making something for myself. Always for the kiddos ;)
That is so sweet Shannon. Your mom will love it and I love those colors. The only thing I ever crocheted was one humungeous granny square ( I can't even spell it) because I didn't know how to put the smaller ones together..Don't think that would work for my Kindle..Happy Wednesday..Judy
Shannon, this is so pretty, and your work looks so very perfect! This is the kind of gift a mom loves to get!
