Precious Memories Tablescape

I put together this pretty shabby chic tablescape because I was in a creative mood. Creating vignettes always seems to fulfill my desire to express myself, so I gathered some of my favorite things from around the house to share with you. Although none of these items are expensive, they all hold special memories of good times and family.

I have a love of vintage plates, in particular ones with pink roses on them. I went through my collection and added some of my favorite plates in an old planter lined with doilies.

This hobnail candle holder and the basket in the background were part of the milk glass collection my Grandmother gave me a few years ago.

These strawberries and blueberries are in a milk glass bowl my parents gave my Great Grandmother the first year they were married. Mom was so proud to have given her this because at the time my parents were only 19 and did not have much money for gifts.

When my Great Grandmother passed away, the bowl was returned to Mom because it had such sentimental value to her.

I've used this pink shabby chic birdhouse many times and thought it would be perfect on this table.

Pretty embroidered and lace linens are another weakness of mine. Dad bought Mom the pink one while on a trip to Belgium about 30 years ago.

You have probably seen this chintz tea cup at HomeGoods. This cup is not old, but I thought it was too pretty not to use in this vignette.

This terracotta urn was painted white and filled with beautiful pink flowers.

I used this pretty old quilt for a tablecloth as a backdrop for all these special things.

Hope you've enjoyed seeing some of the things that have a special meaning to me.

Do you have things in your home that do not have monetary value but hold great sentimental value to you? Leave a comment to tell us about them.

You always know how to put things together to look their best. I have some doilies from my Grandmother and a few of her sewing things. It would be fun to put those together in a basket. Hugs!

What a pretty vignette, Shannon! I love that everything you have used has special memories! Your china plates are gorgeous, and I love your milk glass too. I've got quite a few milk glass pieces, many came from garage sales and thrift shops. How nice that you have the bowl that belonged to your Great Grandma!

This is femininity at its best, Shannon! Very pretty! I'm sitting here in sweat pants and a T-shirt, but thinking I should go put on a dress and heels!!! :-) I have a LOT of things in my home that are of less monetary than sentimental value. I tend to FEEL more than I think sometimes. Happy New Year to you!

Your vignette is absolutely beautiful. The plates are gorgeous too. I have my grandmother's McCoy planters and some painted dishes from my husband's grandmother, and all are precious to me and only me! Also some ceramics my mom made in the 70s. Things with memories are the most important things. Linda

Love your vignette of old and new pretties! The antiques have a wonderful sentimental value and thanks for sharing the information about each one. The bowl from your mother given to you grandmother and now yours is my favorite. The pastel shades blend beautifully!
