Valentine's Day And Birthday Vignette

A few days ago, Mom was creating a vignette in our foyer for Valentine's Day. Since her birthday was a few days ago, she had the idea to also make this a two in one vignette, which brought back memories of birthdays in the past.

Dad doesn't consider himeself the romantic type, but he always brings her roses both for Valentine's Day and her birthday. She put these beautiful peachy pink roses in my vintage teapot.

She added these pale pink and white candles, along with a dainty pearl garland, in a pretty crystal bowl. Her favorite color is pink, especially this feminine pale pink like this.

You may have seen my collection of cherubs last week, but I forgot about this one. It is painted like the others. To get this look, I painted the cherub pink, then stippled white over it. It's very simple to do, but I think it turned out really cute.

A few petals dropped from the roses, so she displayed them in a heart shaped glass bowl.

Mom went rummaging through my sitting room and found this wreath. She knew she would find something perfect for her vignette in there because that room is decorated with lots of pink in the shabby chic style. All she did was put it on the table with a small votive candle.

My Mom is the romantic type and has kept letters and cards from the time they were dating in the 60's until today. She thought the sentiments of this old birthday card fit in well with the romantic feel of her vignette.

I thought you might like to read the sweet words of this card.

If you would like to create a similar vignette, use a meaningful Valentine's Day or birthday card from your past.

Happy Early Valentine's Day and Belated Birthday Mom!

I think she made a very beautiful vignette and hope you like it too.

If you like this vignette, I think you will also like my Precious Memories Tablescape.

The roses look so pretty in the vintage tea pot. Great idea instead of a vase. Sweet of your dad to get the roses.

What a beautiful and meaningful vignette! I just love how she used the teapot as the vase for the roses, and also displayed the card from the past - so sweet and pretty!

Hi Shannon, The color of those rose petals is amazing! I love to display my old cards and I save them from one year to the next. I think greeting cards are wonderful and am sad to see them disappearing. Your mom is a talented lady! Linda
