You love the roses – so do I. I wish
The sky would rain down roses, as they rain
From off the shaken bush. Why will it not?
Then all the valley would be pink and white
And soft to tread on. They would fall as light
As feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be
Like sleeping and like waking, all at once!
The sky would rain down roses, as they rain
From off the shaken bush. Why will it not?
Then all the valley would be pink and white
And soft to tread on. They would fall as light
As feathers, smelling sweet; and it would be

Like most women, I love roses, whether I grow them in my garden, receive them as a gift, or treat myself to them from time to time. The market where I shop has a floral shop inside, and one of the main reasons I like going there is to look at their beautiful floral arrangements. I rarely buy one since they are on the expensive side, but sometimes I will get a simple bouquet of flowers to make my own arrangement for at least half the cost.
Since Valentine's Day is later this week and pink is one of my favorite colors, I treated myself to some roses. I am enjoying my arrangement as a centerpiece on the kitchen table, but an arrangement like this also makes a pretty gift for Valentine's Day, a birthday, or maybe to brighten the day of someone in the hospital.

Whether you are using fresh flowers from your own garden this spring or if you need a little help from the florist this winter, making a Fresh Rose Floral Arrangement is very easy to do even with no prior floral arranging experience. I am by no means a professional florist, but arranging flowers is just a hobby of mine.
The container I used is a vintage milk glass basket, which I believe is the old quilt pattern from Westmoreland. Feel free to use any vase or container around your house.
Here is what you need:
- A container (I used a vintage milk glass basket but any type of container can be used.)
- Artesia® Wet Floral Foam Block from FloraCraft
- A dozen fresh roses (The amount of flowers you need depends on the size of the container.)
- A bouquet of fresh baby's breath
- A kitchen knife
- Kitchen scissors
- Water
1. Using a kitchen knife, cut a piece of wet floral foam to fit the container . Soak the floral block in water, then place it inside the container.
2. Using the kitchen scissors, trim rose stems to the length you need. Evenly space them around the container.

| Look closely at the floral foam block. When it is wet, the flower stems can easily be inserted in the foam and stay in place to make an arrangement. The foam also helps to keep the flowers fresh. |
3. Cut baby's breath to size and insert pieces of it between the roses.
4. Once the arrangement is the way you like it, fill the container with water.
If you like this project, you may enjoy some of my other craft projects using Styrofoam.
**Thank you FloraCraft for the floral block for this project.**

This is really pretty, Shannon. Pink is one of my favorite colors, too, and I DO love pink roses. :)
Thanks for the tutorial; this is as pretty as something from the florist shop, and it would definitely be more economical.
I hope you have a great weekend!
